Carpe Diem Night Club (ex Flash Dance)

I had two really bad experiences in Budapest last week unfortunately. Both happened right in the middle of the city, on Váci utca. First we were just strolling down the street, which is actually really nice and tidy, when these two average looking girls came up to us with a map, asking us where something was. We obviously didn’t know the answer, but then we started talking about something completely different. They claimed to be students who had just arrived to Budapest. They knew this dance club with live music, and they took us there. Later we found out they weren’t students at all, but employees of the club, where they trick foreigners into entering with such cheap ploys. They managed to trick us as well, we hardly drank anything but we had to pay 200 euros. What could we do, we just left, but next day we happened to be on Váci utca one more time. We entered a strip club, where the same thing happened to us as the day before. We started talking to these two really hot strippers and at the end our bill included the drinks they had allegedly drunk. This of course wasn’t true, we didn’t invite them for anything, but we still had to pay for it. Afterwards I found all the warnings on the internet about how you have to be careful about things like this on Váci utca, but obviously it was too late by then. Whoever is about to travel to Budapest, please be careful and don’t fall for these tricks like we did.

Last week i was in budapest on holiday. I met with nice hungarian friends and they took me to a great party near by the danube called club studio. I enjoyed it very much! The day after they showed us the nightlife of budapest, so we went to some clubs around the city. The first two i didn’t like too much…one of them was the madame pompadour in the city center, the second i don’t remember, but was also close to it. After they took me to the other part of budapest to the royal palace. This is a very comfortable and friendly place with solid prices and with a lot of showgirls working. What was very special for me is the restaurant part, the meal was perfect ! So, i was realy satisfied with the hungarian hospitality:)

Three of my colleagues visited Budapest last month and they were telling som quite interesting stories I think it would be useful to share that with you. The rudest happened to the in the city centre, in Váci street. While they were walking about they were invited to a club called Falsh Dance. Which was a tiny bar with quite a lot girls who were just dancing there as there was no escort service there. They were just about to sit down when nearly all the girls surrounded them an soon the girls’ cocktails arrived as well. My friends were suspicious so they asked the girls and the staff emphatically to stop that but they were pushy even more. They had no choice but to leave the place. I think it’s evident what happened after that. You are right: a bill of 900 Euro. Arguing, struggling, etc. They wanted to call the police but the staff didn’t choose that and they were let out finally. But the bill was still 400 Euro. At the hotel’s reception they were told that bar with all the others in Váci street was also on the black list of the American Embassy so they shouldn’t have gone near the place. The receptionist offered them a nice and reliable club the Royal Palace. She guaranteed it personally. They took a taxi and when they told the driver the name of the club he claimed it was closed that week and he took them immediately to another bar. Although my pals told him they didn’t want to go to any of the other clubs and they would like to be taken back to their hotel the taxi driver stopped in front of an unknown club but they didn’t get out of the car. They told the driver to take them urgently to their hotel and if he didn’t do so he would have got into trouble. So the driver took them back and at the hotel it turned out Royal Palace was open, of course but they were fed up with everything and didn’t want to go anywhere.

I was there in august 2007. And it was one of my worst experience ever. I was headhunted at the street, and before I had made any thought I sat together with two fantastic looking women. They asked for a drink, and I said "Yes, in case you tell me the cost". They said it was no problem, it was very cheap and i got a special dance on the same time. After the dance, I would like to pay, but the bill was 150.000 HUF. I didnt have that much money, and was angry and refused to pay that much. At once I found 3-4 gorilla-types with guns around me, and I feared for my life. I was forced to pay, and I had to get the money from a exchange-store just outside the club. I can only say if you are looking for fun in Budapest, dont ever go to this Club, if you care for your life!!!!

A small bar in the center of budapest. I think there are better nite clubs to go in the city, i didn't like it at all..
