I was in Budapest a few days ago with a few mates and we visited a couple of clubs and discos. it was a mixed bag really, there was everything from high class to unbearable. since this site is more about strip clubs, let me write about those. we visited 3 clubs, from the best to the crappiest. a night at the latter was the most awful experience of the whole trip. unfortunately we too fell victim to the corrupt taxi drivers written about on this site. too bad we didn’t read some of this before going to hungary. what happened was we got into a cab of the hyatt hotel and we were naive enough to ask the driver to take us to a good place that’s not too expensive. he took us to a bar called jolly rogers. we stayed even though there wasn’t a single thing we liked about the place. all it is is a smoky hole, i didn’t even like the girls, so after 20 minutes we decided to go somewhere else. when we asked for the bill we couldn’t believe our eyes, because several items were on it that we didn’t have. they went on to justify this by saying that we have to pay for what the girls who came over to our table had, but I’d hasten to add we didn’t buy any drinks for them at all. of course we got pretty pissed off because the amount on the bill was exorbitant, but worst of all it was painfully obvious that we were simply being ripped off. we were firm that we would resist and not pay the bill, only what we ourselves did drink. we had to be fighting with them for about 1 hour until they finally let us leave. they didn’t threaten us or anything, but still it was an awful experience. so if you don’t want to go through anything similar i think you’d better avoid this place.

I must warn everybody not to come here, because it’s all about ripping off clients. Why there aren’t more comments about this bar is beyond me, considering that each day they keep misleading clients. I, for one, surely paid over five times what the bill actually would have been, but at the end of the day I was the foolish one to let the cab driver talk me into coming here even though I originally wanted to go somewhere else. If you ever happen to get into the taxi of a hotel and they recommend this place to you, remember this and don’t believe the cab driver, because all they want to do is rip you off!

Well, the other day I too fell victim to the taxi drivers and my own stupidity. I took a cab downtown at Váci utca and I was brought to Jolly Rogers. It was like time travel, but not in a good way. Imagine a basement with a less-than-modest interior. The club was so skimpy, lacking almost everything that is not absolutely necessary, it gave the impression of having been opened for a few months only. They seemed to be expecting having to close for good any minute, trying to minimalise loss. Neither the staff, nor the service was professional. The girls at best around or below average, I couldn’t even choose one of them. Prices: The prices, on the other hand reminded me of downtown London A bottle of wine was around EUR 300, while not even the entire equipment of the club was worth that much. Not recommended to anyone!
