"I had two really bad experiences in Budapest last week unfortunately. Both happened right in the middle of the city, on Váci utca. First we were just strolling down the street, which is actually really nice and tidy, when these two average looking girls came up to us with a map, asking us where something was. We obviously didn’t know the answer, but then we started talking about something completely different. They claimed to be students who had just arrived to Budapest. They knew this dance club with live music, and they took us there. Later we found out they weren’t students at all, but employees of the club, where they trick foreigners into entering with such cheap ploys. They managed to trick us as well, we hardly drank anything but we had to pay 200 euros. What could we do, we just left, but next day we happened to be on Váci utca one more time. We entered a strip club, where the same thing happened to us as the day before. We started talking to these two really hot strippers and at the end our bill included the drinks they had allegedly drunk. This of course wasn’t true, we didn’t invite them for anything, but we still had to pay for it. Afterwards I found all the warnings on the internet about how you have to be careful about things like this on Váci utca, but obviously it was too late by then. Whoever is about to travel to Budapest, please be careful and don’t fall for these tricks like we did."

"Last year we were there at the Formula 1 and we are sure to go back this year again. What I’m a bit afraid of is everybody coming to where we’re going, causing the place to become overcrowded. But this is the only place where you’re safe and there are like 40 gorgeous girls working there and in my experience there aren’t many taboos, those birds are everything but shy!"

"One of my mates has just returned from Budapest and the poor fellow ended up at a place called Jet Club. He said he’d got into a cab on the street wanting to go to a disco, and the driver took him to this Jet Club and told him it was a disco full of really hot girls. My friend ended up paying 430 Euros for a couple of beers and he practically had to argue his way out because they wanted him to pay even more. So be sure to avoid this place, because it’s a club well known by the police to be living off frauds against tourists, due to which the municipality had it closed down a while back, but they somehow managed to reopen."

"I’m glad to read this previous post because we’re going to the Formula 1 to Budapest soon with a couple of mates and we’re looking for a trustable club with nice girls. I’ve already read many positive things about P1 earlier, but what I read here convinces me even more that P1 should be the place we visit. Looking at the club’s homepage and Facebook page we can hardly wait to be there, to be honest. Afterwards when I come back home, I promise I’ll do a quick writeup to let you know what it was like."

"Let me share with you a good experience I had last year: As you do, I was browsing the web to try to find the best place to go. All the negative feedback about certain clubs was somewhat alarming, but both my friends and I were so horny that we felt if we are in Budapest we should not miss our chance, because everybody knows that hot girls like the Hungarians are impossible to find anywhere else. We were there for the Formula 1 race for 4 days and we later found out we made the best possible decision. We went to P1, which had just been opened. It was a fresh club and all we read about it was good. Seriously: no other club had so many great reviews like P1, which was also in the centre of the city, near our hotel, so we literally felt like we had no choice but check this place out. The girls on the website nearly mesmerised us and we could not believe they all actually worked there until we arrived and saw that they did. Everyone, the girls, the staff, everyone was really nice and polite with us, despite the crowd, and they were doing their jobs smoothly. As I said, all the girls who were on the website were actually there at the club, what’s more it wasn’t only them, but others as well, all of them totally hot. The VIP area and the time we spent there was also extremely exciting and satisfying :). At the end we practically weren’t interested in Formula 1 anymore, we were just waiting all day for P1 to open and for us to go back there another time :). Well, Formula 1 is around the corner again and we’ve already got our tickets again. I can recommend this club to anyone who likes high end clubs and having a good time in the company of gorgeous women. I hope this helps you choosing where to go, as I wouldn’t have found this little treasure myself if it weren’t for a review like this posted somewhere on the web!! "

Cheats - What to pay attention to
Váci utca
Those who visit Budapest, the Hungarian capital city may easily walk into the first trap while walking in the city centre, along Váci utca, if they are not careful and attentive enough. The main pedestrian street of Budapest is full of girls hunting foreigners. They pretend to be foreigners, and after approaching the unsuspecting tourists who are just looking around, they go with them into a bar or restaurant chosen by them. And at this point begins the unlimited consumption of food and beverages, while the attention of the "poor guy" is diverted, with every method possible, from the price list. As the price of certain cocktails and alcoholic drinks can easily reach 100 Euro, the bill will soon reach the amount of 1000-2000 Euro. Evidently, the girls in question also get a good proportion of this amount.
That it why you should keep in mind, that getting acquainted with pretty girls on the street is not any easier in Budapest than in any other city in the world. Please, be careful and cautious, always look at the price list, and always fix the price with the waiter/waitress right before consumption!
Duplicate price list
Regrettably, the number of night-clubs using this very simple but highly efficient method is numerous. The method is the following: Once you arrive, they try to convince you to stay, thus they show you a price list which indicated good, relatively low, very attractive prices. Once you have decided to stay, they change the price list (unnoticed), and when it comes to paying the bill, you already have the other list with much higher (four or five times) prices.
Taxis hired by the hotels
If you wish to visit a night-club or a restaurant, the biggest mistake you can make is to use the services of a taxi hired by a hotel.
You should not do it, because the taxi drivers collaborate with the respective establishments and get very high commission (quota) from the amount the cheated foreign tourist pays. As a consequence of this method, the taxi driver will definitely take you to a dishonest, incorrect place, as these places pay the driver the largest commission which is paid, in reality, by YOU.
Before you make up your mind and choose a place to go, please try to get information about your choice, and use the services of an ordinary taxi company, which "in addition to being honest" is much cheaper. Below you find a list of some of these taxi companies:

Escort service providers
In Hungary, people have not as yet adopted the long-term business approach. As a consequence, a lot of the services provided are based on cheating and misleading. Escort services also fall into this category.
The biggest problem is that escort services are extremely expensive. However, even if we decide to pay 300-400 Euros for these services, we seldom get want we thought, expected and should receive. In stead of the beautiful, tall, blond, long-hair and intelligent girl promised, the person who actually arrives is usually a sloppy, frowzy Gipsy girl who hardly speaks any foreign languages. In itself, it would not be a big problem, but ? in the majority of the cases - the agency asks for half of the amount payable in advance, thus we loose that sum anyway if we do not like the girl and send her back. In other words: In Hungary, using escort services is a kind of "lucky or unlucky bag", so we do not recommend this service!
Catalogues
An alternative to the above escort services is the so-called catalogue. These catalogues are usually being shown by the receptionist to the "lesh-hungry" male companions.
In these catalogues, you usually find attractive, beautiful, young ladies, but when you make your choice you are usually (in 99% of the cases) told that the girl in question is not available, and another will come. Needless to say, that the girl who actually comes is much less attractive than the one on the photo and the price is not the same either as the one told initially, because they calculate everything as extra. Finally, this service will not be any cheaper than visiting a club and choosing the girl we like while having a good drink. We do not recommend this service either.
Discos, establishments for entertainment
Many foreign tourists believe that it is quite easy to get acquainted with pretty girls at such places. It was true about 10 years ago. By now, the situation has "regrettably" changed. For an unknown reason, Hungarian girls are reluctant to get acquainted with foreigners. You should definitely take this phenomenon into account when you make your plans and programmes.
